how to prepare to go to dancing classes for the first time?

I’m almost 17 and I’d like to start hip hop dancing classes. what should i do to prepare myself? i mean do i need to loose a bit of weight or know some dancing steps? I’m not that thin but I’m not fat but do i need to loose weight? (I’m like 125 lbs but I’m a bit tall)

Honestly, you don’t *need* to do anything, really. But if you want to be prepared, stretch some. This is a really good link for split stretches:

It depends on what level dance class you start. If it’s just a local dance class then you won’t need any experience and they will help with whatever you struggle with. If you are joining an advanced leveled class (which I doubt) you would needto know a few bits already and will need experience.
